After 5 years in the garage, the lid warped a tiny amount, I checked with a garden hose and the o ring seal was still tight. I called SKB, and they paid shipping both ways to send me a brand new one, under lifetime warranty. No bad, actually great customer services.
I shipped my prior bow in a cheap Docosil case padded with my hunting camo and duct tape over the latches from here to Texas multiple times to hunt there, and the bow was no worse for wear. If buying one, I'd get the better bow case, but my point is with the padding from the camo gear, it was OK.
One thing I did notice, was coming from the cold in the cargo area into the humidity in Austin, when I opened the case the bow was covered in condensation on the cold aluminum.
Another shoutout for SKB. They are not indestructible though. Delta knocked a hole in mine in Atlanta coming home from a hunt. They did buy me a new SKB double bow case but the point is you dang near have to TRY to knock a hole in one. For that matter, American bought me a new gun case about 25 years ago as well.
Price being equal, minus the extra size I think the double bow case might be the way to go.
I prefer the single for the smaller size but the i series is great so it's just up to you. I packed my bow, accessories, and 2 change of clothes for extra padding in my single on my S Africa trip.
I looked at those and couldn't find much negative about them but for a little more you can get the SKB which offers $1500 in content replacement and a lifetime warranty. For the extra $100 it was worth it to me. I ended up ordering the SKB iSeries 4214. Thanks for the recommendations!
FYI, you can find the Plano all-weather case for 99 in black on Prime to save a few bucks.
