Lot's of wisdom there. I wear a collared shirt most days but when it comes turnaround time I make sure to sit down with all the iron workers and welders/fitters on my job. I respect them and make dang sure they respect me. I'll run welding leads and tote parts/tools up/down ladder wells when things get busy. Generally, I get a return handshake at the end of the job from all the hands.

...bet that young man of yours says yes/no Sir/Ma'am too.

I have a river house on the Sulphur River. One weekend I was supposed to work late friday and again Saturday. Ended up getting off friday after work. My sons and some friends had gone on to the River for the weekend. You never know what to expect when you show up by surprise. As I got out of my pickup I saw someone pull back the curtain on the window and yell back in to the room. "Cool Guys. Dad made it. Come on."

Now that I'm a grown man, my dad, uncles are my friends. I'd rather hang out with them over a campfire than anyone else. You're doing it right dad.

Be very careful... He probably wants to borrow tools.

I told him when a man shakes your hand let him know your there. I try and guide him but always try and let him make his decisions, letting him fail but always being there to supporting him. He is working full time and school full time at night. Will finish his associate degree in welding from TJC in June. One proud Dad
This! Cant wait for my son to be old enough to be in the woods with me, but dont want to rush him growing up either! He is about to turn 4 and goes everywhere I can safely take him (filling feeders, checking cams, etc). A couple more years and he'll be chasing the same critters i am. My dad wasnt around when I was growing up (didnt meet him till I was 23), but the resemblance is uncanny all the way down to the hobbies we both share! Good job dad!
