Squeezed 2 limits of trout out

It was a grind, but we squeezed 2 limits of solid trout in east matty. All artificial.

I had a limit in West Matagorda this morning right inside the jetties. Also 2 23 inch reds. Had a bunch that where to little. My keepers barely made 15.

That is a solid day! It was tough fishing, but I will say that the specks were solid. Only caught two dinks. Everything we kept was 19-23" with one 17"er. The sandies were obviously smaller, but big enough to eat. Lost one red at the boat. We didn't really chase reds, but figured we would have hooked more than one.

We did not even touch the south shoreline. That was our back up plan, but didn't end up making it there.

Ha, that is very true! We were planning on heading further south due to the tourney in matty this weekend, but made a last minute decision at 5 this morning to head to east bay. Otherwise you would have been invited from the beginning.

Our plan C was to make the haul to the surf if we couldn't find anything, but every time we were about to make a run, we would pick up a fish. Looks like we didn't miss out on anything, but I figured the surf would be on.

We were actually able hammer a few out but it was rough and we didn't get out until about 7.
