Yes there is no bay in Austin unless you want to count Horseshoe Bay.
There were boat races until the tree huggers moved in. But you can pull your dress up and pee where you want.
That's why I moved back to So. Tx.

The boat races you are talking about were probably part of AquaFest. Best festival Austin had back in the day. It wasn't the tree huggers who got it cancelled though. It was people who lived along townlake who are wealthy and well connected with the politicians. They didn't like the noise and had it moved to Decker Lake which pretty much killed it going forward.

Aqua Fest, that was where former Oilers QB Dan Pastorini launched his boat into the bleachers full of fans and killed a spectator. It didn't stop the rest of the events. Wow. That takes me way back. Skipper Pin = ticket to party out!

Austin was different back then... in a better way.
