Just my 2 worth. About 10 years ago I was in such pain for so long that I took the first neurosurgeon that had an opening. Sure wish that I hadn't done that. There was a reason that he was so available. My advice is to find THE VERY BEST surgeon for what you need and wait until he can to it.

Thanks for the concern I definitely understand. When looking for an appointment One of the top orthopedic surgeons in Houston referred me to him. According to his credentials and talking to other doctors and nurses, he is one of the top. neurosurgeons in Houston. He Said he has been doing it for 20 years and has done over 10,000 operations. His name is dr David Baskins. Anybody ever used him? I really feel like God opened up the doors to this so quickly so I'm trusting he laid the ground work for it. He was booked for months and foe whatever reason was able to work me in so soon. He has several YouTube videos of his success stories on brain tumors etc. Before going into surgery this morning the anesthesiologist informed me how people travel from all over the world to see this man, and apparently it isn't usually easy to get in. She assured me I was in the best of hands I'm having faith that the lord has me where he wants me.Last edited by K-Train; 05-16-2016, 09:38 PM.

He was highly recommended by several people and somehow we managed to get an appointment to see him on short notice. He was outstanding. He ended up doing another MRI from a more advanced machine and he recommend against surgery. He saved us from a lot of unnecessary side effects of removing the gland.
So yes I would recommend him...he is the best of the best from our experience and from what others have told us.

I need your prayers
Made some progress today. My brother and a few friends came by to visit. I got up and walked around several times today, made a short ride into town to get out of the house. I climbed the stairs and took my first bath and feel much better. Ate and drank all day just fine and only had to take the minimum pain meds every 6 hours.
On a side note, my right arm where one of the IV's was in was bothering me and has swollen some and gotten a little red and warm to the touch. My mother and girlfriends mother are former nurses and are taking care of me, they both think it is beginning of cellulitis from the IV. Called the doc and he sent in antibiotics over the phone and I just started them. If it doesn't get any better by tomorrow I'll have to go back to ER to get it checked out. Not out of the woods yet, so please pray that it goes away and I continue to recover. I'm staying thankful for the miracle God has already performed, just hope the recovery road is easy. Thanks again for the continued prayers.

God is still in the miracle business brothers!
The surgery went well, and the doctor said God was smiling on me today and it was a miracle. Turns out, it wasn't even a tumor, it was a ruptured vein, and it had formed a big blood clot that was pressing on my nerve on my spine! He said he had never imagined this would happen and it was a miracle. He was able to remove it off of the nerve, and I should get 100% Use of my hand back. There is absolutely no cancer. Surgery was much shorter than expected, and I'm not in icu, I'm in a regular room and should go home in a day or two. He wants me to do another MRI in 6 weeks and then in 12, to make sure nothing else is going on and to double check the surgery. He also sent a biopsy of the blood clot off to see if there is any info he can get on the cause of if, but if could just be from overuse. I just want to take this time to thank the good lord and you guys for the outpouring of love and support. It made it so much easier with you there for me. God is good!
