    Deer block on a stick

I wanted to try something to keep the coons off of my deer blocks so........I tried this. It seems to work, the deer blocks now will last about a month compared to a couple days before.Click image for larger version

Pretty cool, deer lollipops! The buck in the last pic looks perplexed though, why is it on the ground? LOL

do you just poke a whole thru it with the rod?

Do you have a washer on the rod to prevent it from sliding to the ground?

Yes, you do have to drill through the block. After you drive a small diameter pipe into the ground, place a metal or aluminum plate on top of the pipe and push a smaller rod through the block and into the pipe.

Years ago I drilled hole through center of block and ran wire through block to hang it from tree limb to get it off ground from hogs......now I build a hanging basket like with 1/4 inch rods one rod for each side of block then take a center from cow feed tub and make it into a cone and hang it above block to keep off the rain and animals trying to climb down wire to block slide off the cone to ground.........Andy
