Before I start, this is not a rant and I fully support and am empathetic to the dangers troopers subject themselves to daily. But, I expect them to abide by the law.
Last Friday my family and I were traveling to our ranch on US 84 just north of Roscoe,tx. A DPS trooper, who was perched on a county road running a speed gun began pursuit of a speeding car. In the attempt to chase the driver down, he entered the highway, running a stop sign and missing my truck by mere yards. In fact, had I not been observant, and slammed my brakes he would have clipped the passenger quarter panel.
The car he was pursuing was a run of the mill speeder, maybe going 80 in a 75. He was backed off the highway, not sitting at the stop sign because he had built up a noticeable amount of speed when he zipped on to the highway.
If you are going to be a member of the Dept of PUBLIC SAFETY, you should keep the public safe, not jeopardize their lives!
