I don't know about y'all, but I almost get just as excited when I find a nice crank bait or spinner on the bank. I'd say about 90% of the lures in my box are ones I've found. There's days that I come back with more than $100 worth of lures! I'll usually fish em and when I get snagged I'm not too upset cause I've got my money's worth out of them! I throw away the ones with crummy hooks and keep the good ones. Anyone else like combing the banks for lures?

Just as fun as catching fish

When I used to fish Calaveras and Braunig (San Antonio) used to get in close to the rip-raps and cast parallel to the shoreline to bounce crank baits off the submerged rocks and catch lots of fish, and at the same time, keep one eye on the rocks and find lots of baits. I've found as many as a dozen baits in a day's fishing.

When I was 12 and was at the pinnacle of being addicted to fishing I get snagged on what I think is a branch but when it comes to surface it's a 100 dollar (1992 is the year) shimano spinning rod and reel in perfect condition. At 12 it might of been the best day of my life. Had a trigger for the bail release too.
