    Painting PVC

I have several pvc pipes in the steers pens covering t-posts (electric fence posts). I'm tired of looking at the white. What are spray paint options? No worry if they have to be touched up now and then. Some kind of special black primer?

I painted some plastic parts on my FJ Cruiser years ago with Textured Paint for plastic from Krylon. It held up pretty well. Scuffed with a brillo-like pad and painted.

I may have a few cans of the paint here as I had to order a box to get it as it wasn't standard shelf product. It's black.

Sounds like we need to meet in Blanco for a trade.

It's just a uv issue, rustoleum or any outdoor paint will work.

Need to sand them first, then any good paint will work.

I used krylon on a pvc bow stand I made today. No sanding just did light coats and it's good to go. Dried quick and back in the house with 5 bows hanging no issues.

Sprayed some PVC pipe feeders last fall with an etcher first and then a textured paint. It worked really well and has help up pretty good after being thrown around in the bed of the truck and hauled through the woods.

Here at work, we paint all of our PVC piping that's exposed to the sun with latex paint. Works just fine.

Rustoleum makes a universal surface coverage spray paint with primer already in it for about $6/can. They also have a line that notes "also bonds to plastic". This is only about $4/can and is a paint+primer. I used this 2nd kind to paint kid's pop warner football helmet when he was in 6th grade. Paint stayed on all season, and he played both ways. I was really impressed at the paint. Available at Home Depot (disclaimer : where I work, part time).

I don't know how to post a picture on here from my phone. You can email me at southernshiver@yahoo.com if you would like to see the pic of the painted bow stand. Maybe one of the more tech savvy guys could post it.

Save a can for Andrew. He needs to finish painting that FJ!
