    Protien,corn, and soybean mix ratio

I recently joint the group and happy to have done it. I have been reading threads over feeding protien and I have been contemplating on feeding protien the past couple years. I was just never in the financial spot to afford it. Well today I found a good deal on a Lehman 500 pound gravity feeder and decided to pull the trigger!! To get the deer used to eating the protien I was going to mix it with corn and soybeans. Is their a certain ratio yall like to use to get things kicked off and deer used to the protien..... I hunt on a tract of land about 250 acres in Jackson county off the lavaca river. With it being small acerage I know the deer travel off a lot so would feeding protien up until October help my deer population increase? Thanks.

Well, I'd use more protein then the others if you are wanting them to eat the protein. Either way, it won't take long before they find it. Thinking I'd get them use to Protein before you add another element like soybeans. Corn as your base mixer is a good call. Good luck

I would pour in 50lbs of corn with the first bag of protein and then just go straight protein from there.

They sale a mix called Horns Plus, roasted soybean and corn. I filled the feeder the first time with just that. Worked great.

Bingo, if you place it near a know travel / feeding area they'll figure it out.

You'll likely notice that they'll be slow to eat it until about mid-summer. It's been so wet and with the recent rains they'll be on natural browse until it dries up a bit.
