Oil/ Fluid changes on your Polaris Ranger

I've got a 2015 900 crew...instead of using the over priced Polaris no name stuff....do you guys have any oils, ATF and gear lube that you use for your oil changes?

I had the dealer do the first service as recommended but looking at going with Amsoil products.

I use Amsoil, but it's not really saving me any $$. I have not and would never take mine into Polaris for their overpriced service. I do it all on my own.

Unless you paid for the overpriced, worthless extended warranty, just do a google search and crossreference all the fluids. Most can be had for a lot less than polaris charges. Reminds me, its that time again!

Mobil 1, Amsoil, or Rotella 0w40 full synthetic

          from a highlifter.com post....

"The rear differential is Full Synthetic GL-5 Hypoid Gear oil. Any Full Synthetic 75w90 GL-5 gear oil can be used.

The transmission is a little different. You can use chain case oil here, and Amsoil makes a great product for this. But due to the little amount that it takes, and the fact that the Polaris oil does have a little something extra to it, I recommend you stick to the Polaris fluid. Its just doesn't save enough money to justify the risk.

The front differential is another animal altogether. You have to use the Polaris fluid. DO NOT use anything else. Like above, the little money you may save in fluid, you will more than pay for in troubles. If you do not use the proper oil in the fornt diff, you will have 4wd problems."

Dang, just found out I am stupid for having the overpriced Polaris dealer work on my Ranger. . I guess I will chalk it up to having more money than sense. .

Seriously I should learn how to do this myself, I hate hauling the thing back and forth from the ranch as much as anything.

I use Red Line synthetics. Great oils that really hold up.

Weve used Mobil 1 in all 5 of our rangers since the first 2 we started with in 2005.

Never had a problem with the oil.

Did burn an engine up due to oil filter not getting tightened up all the way. Or it was and back off for some reason still not sure. It was on the 2010 they do not have low oil shut offs which was a costly lesson.

But other than that we have about 5,000hrs total on them all with mobil one 0W40

I use amsoil oil for my 2010 ranger 800xp. I change the oil about every 2 years and the oil still looks fairly good. The motor oil is the only fluid I have ever changed and it has never been in the shop. I usually put 200 hours a year on it.

Amsoil or Lucas products.... YouTube is your friend....

Simple and easy. I do mine just after deer season, gives me an excuse to be in the shop on a cold winters day.

I think there are directions in your owner's manual to be honest.

For fluids I did a bunch of research and decided on Amsoil. You can put in your exact vehicle on their site and it will let you know what you need.

In all honesty it's easy. Takes me about an hour to do my fluids.

Wow that isn't bad at all! I think I paid $200-250 last time to change all my fluids.

I have the extended 5 year warranty I paid $1000 for. I also need to look into getting my cash back for the remaining part
