    Harper Rut has started

Went hunting this morning and it was like the light switch got turned on in the bucks. I heard antlers clacking everywhere and had two big bucks have a knock down drag out fight not 40 yards from me. It only lasted about 15 seconds but they were not playing around. So looks like the cold front has set them off, at least on my place. Got my doe urine out now so I hope I can get the big 8 I have been trying to get in.

I live here. Have my own land and have been watching these bucks act nutty all year. Now they are finally acting like Bucks should Act.

Seems a little early for the rut, but I'm by no means an expert. I usually don't break out the golden estrus until mid-Nov.

Depends on where you hunt by mid to late november I feel my ruts winding down.
