    Camper Buying Questions

I'm looking to get a camper for this upcoming deer season, and for 2 to 3 trips a year, I have a F-150 with the 5.0 motor. I've never owned a camper and looking for a used one. I am leaning towards a pop up for the weight and ease of pulling, but not against a hard side. Just looking for feedback on experience with pop ups, or smaller hardside campers. Looking to spend around 3000 max. Thanks in advance.

I tow a 28' hard side with slide out with my f150 with the 5.0l all the time. Your truck can easily handle it.

A 3000 budget is your limiting factor.

I pulled a 23' from Eldorado to vanderpool with a 94 Chevy with the 4.3..wasn't fun but it did it.

Only your wallet is the limit. I started out with a 27 foot.

Here's my setup. The pickup will pull it. You may look for a hybrid. The have a hard shell and the beds pop out. Idk about the cost though.

I really like pop ups but they do have their limitations. I suggest never folding down a pop up while it is wet. If you are towing it back and forth to the lease, it is fine to stow it wet and raise it to dry when you get home. If you leave it at your hunting spot, stowing while wet, especially if you cannot come back for a while, can be problematic causing mold and mildew to the fabric. That is why I decided to go with a hard body camper. Pop ups are very easy to tow and I was always able to stay warm and dry. JMO. Good luck

Bought this one off a Facebook trader site for $250. Put in $250 worth of repairs and it rock solid now. My 2013 F150 5.0 doesn't even know it's back there.
