    Pool Water is Soapy/Cloudy

I shocked my pool and added algeacide yesterday and now it looks like soapy water. What can I do to clear this up?

My first thought is dead algae, try flock. It is a product that settles the algae out (to the bottom) so you can vacuum it out.

I am tired of mine having issues so I'm converting to salt water.

Is it a sand filter or cartridge? If cartridge have you recently cleaned the filters and if so with any type of cleaner?

Yes on the backwash, no to the DE.

It's the brand of algaecide used. Wouldn't worry. Bubbles go away in a week.

Keep eye on PH, adjust very lightly if needed, and keep brushing any visible growth. Problem will be solved.

Cloudiness is a filtration thing not chem

1st get sanitizer not shock, vaccum and the sanitize, run filter 24hrs a day for a few days, do not back wash. Pool should be clear in about 3 days tops,

Also 24 hrs after adding sanitizer get the algae & clear aide from leslies, add the amount for your gallon capacity.

With in the 3 days above it will be crystal clear.

One thing with sand when you have algae is too much back wash lets particles through. Let it run until its almost plugged up then back wash.
