    Pool Help Please!!

How does your average dumb butt separate the motor from the pump piece here??? (Black from tan)

I've removed every visible screw/bolt and they won't come apart? Hammer time or what?

And yes I removed the shaft bolt inside the little cylinder up top.

I don't think they do. I tried for hours then just went to Leslie's and got one.

Look on line for a site called cheap pool parts.com my wife found it right after I got home.

    Good luck

I bet there's a slot on the motor shaft with a square key that's pretty corroded so it's binding up in there.

You have to take those two Allan head scews off of the difuser plate then there should be a srew through the center of the impeller. Its left handed threads. Then you will be able to take the impeller off. On the back of the motor you should see the end of the shaft. Use a 9/16 wrench to hold the shaft still and spin the impeller off.

Usually there is a plastic piece covering the end of the shaft.

Underneath that will be the impeller, it unscrews. But to unscrew it, you need to stop the shaft from turning. To do that you need to access the shaft from the back of the black end of motor

After removing the impeller, the last piece is held on by 4 bolts

What BPS said. On the other end of the motor, you may need to remove the small cover on the end to access the shaft. Should pry off.

Whatever hammer you are thinking about grabbing, get a bigger one!

Its not that difficult should take about 10 minutes if that once you get it to the point that you have it.

                            Yes sir. Got it.

Thanks y'all!! I'll hook up the new one tomorrow. Yikes!!

That last piece was only held on by the impeller.

Motor was locked up, so no wrench to end piece required.

Now, get about 90 yards of dirt and fill it in. You won't have to worry about another pump motor.
