How the hunting in the Keechi Creek area (Leon County). I was at a friend's place over the weekend, and there was plenty of hog sign, but I wasn't sure of the deer quality. Thought about applying for the draw hunt next season.

We have a place that backs up to the refuge. Not too good my friend. We have killed one rack buck (8 point that may have scored 80) in the last 10 years there. Lots of hogs from time to time. I think they move through. Look it up on the TPWD website and you will see how poor the success rate is. -
I saw an old buck and three doe on my hunt there a few years ago. If I had been more patient and a tree stand that worked I probably could have taken a shot. I don't remember the compartment I was in.
