    Automatic Trap Thrower Feedback

Does anyone have one? I'm looking to upgrade from the basic spring operated. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks,

Used Atlas brand auto throwers for a long time. Great machines and never had any issues with them. They don't break the bank too bad either.....

I have 3 Mec's that hold 400 targets and one Mattarelli that holds around 250 set up with a wireless controller and receivers. The Mec's far out perform the Mattarelli's. These machines aren't cheap but you can find them now and then used. You might check with Travis Mears on here, I think he's sponsored by Mec.

I would love to get one of the higher end ones, but I'm working on an occasional weekend budget. Any feedback on some of the entry level ones?

        Thanks,

The traps you'll find at Academy, Bass Pro etc probably won't be very heavy duty. I don't have a lot of experience with them so I don't know how they will last. Like was mentioned above, the Atlas may be the best trap for the money for what you are wanting. The Atlas Patriot sells for around $600. For around $950 to $1100 you can get a Promatic hobby trap or a MEC 100E that will definitely be a step up. They are still quite a bit of money for someone just wanting to play around occasionally though.

I have a promatic that sells for around $5k, I will take $2000 for it. It holds 400 trap and will go left and right and up and down at the same time. Runs on two 12 volt car batteries.

Thanks folks. For starters, I'm looking at the low end. I don't shoot enough to justify one of the nicer ones. Once I get my own place in the country though, then I'll be ready.
