    How to find your phone?

I have an Iphone - as long as you have the option active with apple to "find my phone" you can locate it if lost correct? I also understand that if signed up with Icloud you can erase all data if needed when lost?

    Thanks for advice

There is a find my iPhone app. Get the app and go from there.

Yes, you can track it as long as it is turned on. You can make it beep remotely and remote erase it

The option defaults to on and I believe it is password protected to turn it off

If you think it is stolen or picked up by someone, you can see what house it is in and watch it move from that app.

You have to turn on the "find my iphone"function in your settings. It's in the iCloud settings.

Yes to all of the above. I've never lost mine while out and about, but I will set it down and the couch or recliner will swallow it, or my 17 month old daughter will carry it off. My phone is always on silent. I'll log into my iCloud acct and make my phone ring audibly so I can figure out where it is.

Why can't they make a remote control with this feature?

thanks guys - I think if the findmyphone is activated you can even lock or erase all data in the phone - wife had a stroke and doing well but misplaces things occasionally so I want to be able to track her phone if needed

Uhhhmmm,,,,, if you can't keep up with your phone, what makes you think you could keep up with a remote control to help you find the phone.... That you can't keep up with?????

                    Insert smily thingy here... Kinda.

Recently on my long drive home from a late night wedding I had to use the restroom most likely from the amount of fluids I had. After a discussion of the best place to pull over my wife found a good spot on the side of the road to let me out. I hopped out, released some pressure and hopped back in to make it home safely. It was then I realized my missing iPhone, my mind a bit foggy I decided to sleep on it and look in the AM. After lots of wondering around muttering I decided I had it in the car when we left the wedding so that leaves 2 possibilities and it wasn't in the car. On the way to work I passed the spot I THOUGHT we stopped and kicked through the 2 foot grass looking for my phone that was on silent. Now that my pants and socks were soaked from dew I headed into work. I hit the Google to ask what my options were and here is what I found. 1. You must have iCloud set up.- I did not. 2. You need to have find my iPhone turned on in settings even if you have the app.-I did not.3 just because you have the find my iPhone app does not mean it is on In settings. Once I figured this out I went to my buddies at the station to ask for any advice, besides some 700$ new iPhone clippings out of Best Buy add placed where I could see them they were no help. Frustrated it seemed there was nothing else I could do to locate my phone. My capt was nice and decided we should go look one more time. We arrived back at general area my wife and I stopped at, I went one way and he the other. A Few hunderd yards down there she was laying right where it fell off my lap when I got out to pee. It seemed to have had a dried substance on it and I don't believe it was dew. Thank goodness for life proof cases. My day sure got a lot better after that now I just had to listen to the ol lady's I told you so's..... I hope this was helpful
