When have you ever seen the underside of a bur that is attached to the head? Maybe the donkey beat up a spike and that is why the donkey has an antler laying on his head.
May be lol, I am lost

Do you have any reason to think you would have a donkey on your place? Are you fenced?

Whitetail, a donkey's ear would be about the length of that antler

Do you have a clearer picture of a different animal at this same location?

I more confused at how a wild game innovations' camera worked long enough to take a picture than what critter that is.

At first I'm thinking Donkey. But, if it's true that's an antler, and on the right a big ear, witch would put the antler growing out of the top of its nose. The only logical conclusion is a Miniature Hairy Rhinoceros. Very rare to these parts. Take good care of it.

Val Verde, we have Whitetail, Axis, Aoudad, and Fallow every now and again. I have heard of people seeing Red Stag and Sika and Blackbucks

Its a whitetail spike losing its winter coat making it look nappy. The ear seems enlarged because it right up on the camera..
