Just got an update and a pic I'll post after I have permission. He is out of ICU and it looks like he will keep his leg! He hasn't been told about his dog yet and It pains me to know how bad that will hurt. He is drugged up and resting for surgery mañana.

That's good news! If he continues to get better maybe they won't have to do surgery. I know a guy whos dad has been bitten by a Bushmaster and a Cobra. He told me that's the worst thing they can do for you is cut on you after you're bit. I'm not sure I'd allow it.

Beware of your surroundings! I have seen more snakes this year than any time that I can remember in the past. We had one on the back porch today and he had to make a real effort to get there.

Hope everything works out well for your buddy!! It is a shame about his lab!
