Man I was sent a pic of exactly what you are describing. It shows the snake striking. Was it a chocolate lab? The pic I have shows a blonde woman, little girl in pink boots and a guy in a camo hat with a chocolate lab posing in front of a cactus. Sent chills down my spine even if it isn't your buddy.
