    yeti question

Has anybody ever put boiling water in a Yeti? I have to take about 3 gallons of taco soup to a function and was wondering if I can dump it straight into my yeti without damage. I would much rather do this than take a crock pot.

I do it to charge the cooler when I need to keep my briskets hot for a while. The only thing I have noticed is it warps the lid it makes it curl but once it cools it goes back to norm
Edit...I only have put a kettle full in then I dump it out

Yup. Do it a few times every year for my crawfish boils. Youll be fine but it might be stained for a few weeks depending on your usage. And itll smell like taco soup for a few weeks too but that all goes away eventually.

They say not to put yeti cups in the dishwasher because the heat will destroy the gel inside the cup that makes it work, I don't know if the same is true for the coolers.

Theres gel inside of the ramblers?

Theyre not dishwasher safe cause it might break the vacuum seal

It wouldn't turn your taco soup into a popsicle?! I'm so confused!!

There is no gel inside the tumblers.....there is a vacuum seal. That being said I have read Yeti has relaxed their "no dishwashers for the Ramblers" instruction as long as its on the top shelf. I have been using the dw on the top shelf with no effect on the rambler or lid..

To the OP. Never done it with a cooler but if it makes the lid warp like suggested above, I'd avoid it.

put two good garbage can bags together and pour your hot soup into the bags, in your Yeti

Just be aware and dont burn yourself with steam like I did. I had the last batch of crawfish soaking in the hot seasoned water for about an hour cause we were all full and playing washers. When I went to open the lid, all the steam came out and gave me a blister or two haha
