Not like it is stock unless you have a really thun lock that can between the lid and base when it's closed. Now, if I made some custom handles from the Bison strap then it would be easy. Or I just might rig up a flattened o-ring or d-ring and go through the locking hole already there. I havent given it any goes yet but when I do I will keep y'all posted.

Joe, thanks for running a great test. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and I am not surprised at the results. I couldn't ever have imagined spending that much money on a cooler before, but the OT is at least a little easier to stomach price wise for the same results.

I was looking at that same thing. I think a piece of flat bar cut to slide into the handle slots and bent over at a 90 to keep it from going through would work.

        Much like this bracket:

Yes. I think something like that would work rather easy.

Or you could do something like this and not spend 40 bucks. It also works to break the seal the gaskets always get. Just pull forward on the wrench and lift the lid.

Genius! A stop at the pawn shop is in order! Did you have to torch it takes make the bend?

Nice write up and test. Maybe I'll get one of these Ozark Trail coolers for my birthday and Father's Day.

Thanks for posting the wrench lock setup. I have seen these a long time ago and used it to break the tight seal but couldn't remember how it was done. I will be doing this on the Ozark Trail for sure.

After 7 days there is no ice in any of the coolers. The Ozark Trail has a tempurature reading of 47 degrees and the Yeti is showing a tempurature reading of 51.

Well they made it 7 days, if they had been full to the top with ice I would be confident they would have made 9 days like some claims.

I got one before this was started and I'm glad I did. Was the only one on the shelf in Brady and I haven't seen them restock it since.

So I had to work late today, but I dont have to go in tomorrow cause I have my hours in for the week, so I get this feeling I need to brave the big blue store by the house. I mosey to the back not expecting anything cause everyone in Houston darn near is out of stock. I get to the back and low and behold a 73 QT is sitting on the shelf with all the other coolers. There is only space on the shelf for just the one. I wonder if Walmart is hording these things in the back and selling them one at a time. I didnt even see a place on the shelves for any other size OT cooler. The real kick in the crotch though is I was so beside myself that they actually had one, that I totally forgot to pick up a tumbler. Son of a ..... Oh well I have tomorrow off work.
