    Squirrel lease?

Before every one laughs haha I really like to shoot squirrels and eat them. It's kind of my in between seasons sport. I had a little place in Mason I would go once a year shoot a few squirrels and that's it. I'm not die hard about it but I like to get about ten or so a year. If any of y'all know a place I'd appreciate it if you would pass it my way. I heard of some good places in San Saba by the pecan orchards but don't really know anyone up there.
    Thank y'all!

I would just take a look at national forest. More squirrels than you ever seen.

Have you thought of knocking on the door of said pecan orchards?

I'm sure they'd be happy to have those pecan thieving limb rats removed.

I too enjoy one or two late spring hunts on my lease. It extends the season and makes a good meal or two. I time it with trips to fill feeders and check camera's.

I've tried but most of the orchards have big locked gates and I hardly ever see anyone up there. I really like it, I feel the same and plan them the same.

Yup, at least around East Texas. Don't know if they allow hunting during the spring season or not, but there's sure no shortage of squirrels.

When I was a kid, everyone started to learn to hunt by hunting squirrels... just part of growin' up back then.

If you were closer you could hunt my back yard. I killed / trapped 81 last year!

                        Seriously, wouldn't hurt to ask

I have two wolf dogs hahaha there isn't much that comes through this yard anymore other than my birds and they don't mess with birds I guess they don't have fun chasing them.

My county would be heaven for you for sure. No closed season, no bag limit, and the pecan growers appreciate my removing the pecan eatin' little devils!!! Hmmm? Pigs aren't coming around much so maybe in the morning . . . ? Yep--report to follow.

You guys eat Squirrels in the spring? Always heard just during the colder months because of parasites and the "wolves" little sores that taint the meat.
