        Glad to hear it!

My daughter is a senior golfer at Kingwood Park and they won Regionals as well yesterday. Headed to Wolfdancer in Bastrop in two weeks.

If she recorded a higher score than she actually shot then she is stuck with that score. No DQ. If she recorded a lower score than she shot it is a DQ.

According to the official rules of golf from the USGA

Very tough lesson, but it is what it is. She will learn a valuable lesson from the experience. Always keep your own score during every round and double check everything. Make sure before leaving the green that whoever is keeping your score has the right number.
Coach also is to blame. He should have double checked and should have never turned that scorecard in before making the necessary correction with his player and the player keeping her score.
My son who just finished his last college tournament, North Texas (C-USA conference tournament, he got 2nd place individually) has called several penalties on himself because of inadvertent rule violations in the past. It has taught him some valuable life lessons that can only be learned on the course. He is a better person for it. Above all else, golf teaches you honesty. A great quality to have and to be respected for.

Rules are rules, but I think zero tolerance is for idiots that can't make a common sense decision and determine intent.
