    contacts for shooting?

If you wear contacts or glasses to be able to see far, your close vision will be affected. How does that affect seeing through the peep up close? Or how would glasses affect the same? Eyes aren't the same any more.

Close vision shouldn't be affected with contacts... I wear contacts daily because I can't see past about 15 feet, but my close up vision is perfect. With contacts close up vision is still good, and long distance is better. I haven't had any issues with rifle or bow because of contacts, although glasses do get in the way when I'm shooting my bow.

My buddy has contacts for far vision, but can't read a book up close with them. Has to put on cheaters to see up close. Glasses with bi focals seem like that would really mess up seeing through peep or rifle scope. Is there a solution besides lasik?

Since getting contacts I can't look at the pin and the target, it's one or the other. One will be in focus one blurry or vice versa. I can tell its affected my shooting

Hmmm might want to consider getting those checked... Although he might have a condition that is different then mine... I am 20 so my eyes are pretty well set, but if they are deteriorating due to age it may be necessary to get frequent checkups. I know until mine settled in I was getting a new prescription every year, so that may be part of your friends issue as well.

Look into a peep verifier, clarifier, or lens for you sight. I don't know what you need but I'm sure one of them will help you out.

I can't see up close, so I use the verifier to help me see my pins clearly

I got contacts about a year ago for shooting specifically. I have low profile glasses and I look over my lenses to get on the sight profile. I've loved using them since. Sucks trying to learn to get them in and out at first but finally got used to it!
