    Guard Rail Bridge

I have a creek that has washed out going to one of my stands and have made low water crossings each year but they continue to wash out. I am looking at making a 20' bridge out of some 26' guard rails for my ranger and small tractor to cross. I wanted to see if anyone on the green screen has done this before and has some tips? thanks!

Did you undercut the creek bottom and put large rock ( rip-rap size ) in the bottom and finish to grade with smaller rock ? I have three low water crossings that have been through some pretty good floods and the most they ever do is mud up a little when the water starts down. Last big rain we had here, the creek got out of the banks but the crossings are still intact. Cheaper and much easier than a bridge most of the time. I know a good contractor at Moscow that could help you if needed.

That was the original crossing was and I redid it 2 years ago but the creek has continued to wash deeper and deeper working its way up stream and it finally got to my crossing and washed it out. i think my best option is to build over it to keep it from happening again

Probably so the way you are describing it. We use to build some bridges using metal building trusses and decking with treated 2x8s or 2x10s.
