    Gene Howe WMA Turkey hunts

Got drawn for a turkey hunt on the 15th-16th and know nothing about the area. Anyone shed some light on tips, locations or pastures to try to hunt in. I'm an experienced turkey hunter just need some insight. Thanks!

Lots of turkeys along the Canadian river bottom but don't assume you'll get one. Still got to work for them (i.e. convince the tom that you've got better offerings than the 20 or so hens he's hanging with). That said, my personal preference is the South Williams pasture, at least that's what I think it's called. It's basically the western most pasture available to hunt that is south of the road to Lake Marvin. I have deer and turkey hunted there and seen plenty of both. If you aren't given the option of that pasture, I'd recommend the pastures on the river bottom (again, south of the road) over the pastures on the north side of the road to Lake Marvin.

Thanks! I figured it is going to be work...every hunt so far this year has been so I figure that will not change
