I put out protein pellets in protein feeders with cameras and have never seen a deer eating at the protein feeders. Deer demolish the corn I put out but never touch the protein and I have a lot of pictures. I hunt in Clay County south of Henrietta. This is year 4 on this place. Anyone else have similar experiences?
I find it best when introducing protein to a new herd, i will put 100lbs of corn in first. then mix 50/50 for about 500lbs, then strait protein on top.. This will teach them to eat it. Then be prepared to spend some coin cause they will start hammering it.

Thanks Krivoman. Sounds like excellent advice. I will try it as soon as I get back out the place. I guess we will be meeting face to face next year when I come to buy a couple of your protein feeders!

I have had great service from the Boss Buck ones. They are light and easy to haul in the bed of a pickup and you can set them up yourself. Get the 600 lb or 1200lb. The 300 lbs one is too small, it works fine its just they eat it out really fast if you don't live on your hunting land.

always buy bigger then you think. a 1000 lb protein feeder will hold 850-890 lbs of protein

When I mixed corn with my protein at first (500 lbs of protein and 300 lbs of corn) the weevils got in it and ruined the whole mix. The deer would not touch it. I had to dump it all for the hogs and start over with pure protein. Then they started hammering it as Krivoman says. Just takes them a while sometimes to get going.

Thanks for the advice sir. I will definitely heed it. I just bought 6 sacks of antler max and I'm really interested to see how the deer on my place take to it. Do you run your protein feeder in the same place as your cottonseed or does it matter? Also should you make the feeding station be in an area you plan on having your stand/bland or is better to set it up deep in the timber or in a sanctuary type area so the deer will be more comfortable coming to it?

Anyone use avantage outdoors? They're made like a few minutes from my house. Stoops by and looked at them and was impressed.

I was lucky to find some apple scented protein pellets, axis and whitetail tore it up. Hopefully they keep at it. Need to get me a timed feeder so they don't eat me out of house and home. Following this feed, hopefully I can make a decision after hearing all the reports.
