                      Bucks will have a spike in testosterone, which causes them to drop their antlers. This, combined with the possibility of a yearling fawn going into late heat, wouldn't surprise me.

                        The first one looks like a doe fawn, first time in heat likely.
                        The second one is clearly a mature doe. Do you have a shortage of bucks in your area?

                            And that folks is why shooting all spikes is a mistake.....lots of does get bred late and their male offspring will often be a spike even if his genetics will make his a sure enough wall hanger later in life......

                              Really it's not that uncommon we see week old fawns in late August early September around here all the time.
