The trainer I first picked was sight unseen because of a strong recommendation from the breeder. I went and visited with him, all was good. I decided to take my dog to meet him, it went fine. Nothing amazing but nothing alarming. I set the date to drop my dog off and we talked about what I should be working on before I dropped of my dog. I did some internet investigation and came up with nothing on the trainer only a couple articles about his dog. I decided to visit him a couple times un announced before I was suppose to drop off my pup.

I was starting to question my choice. On both my unannounced visits, the trainer was not working dogs and the kennels were sloppy and unkept. I called the breeder and ask for contact info for someone that used the trainer. Good news, I knew the person who had used the trainer. I called the previous customer of the trainer and got honest feedback, the guy was ok but it took along time and he ended up finishing his dog with someone else. I called the breeder and let him know.

I am happy with the choice I have made and am comfortable with how I came to the decision.

Spend lots of time and energy looking in to where you take your dogs. To me my dog is like family and I want the best I can get for him.

LONGGGGG way from you, but Bill at Texas Dog Academy in Granbury is EXCELLENT! He trained my "now gone buddy" Kuma and I never had any problems with him from the day he "graduated."

Those who know me also know Kuma was NOT a hunting breed...well, not really correct, he would take care of ANYTHING on 4 legs or crawling that came around our ranch house. My dogs have always been both outside and inside no matter the breed or how big they were, so training had many goals.
