    Are these blade cores?

Are the two larger pieces on the top right blade cores? That's what I assume they are but the smaller of the two looks like it could be something else.

I have no idea, but I do love hunting for them.

Look like big chips to me. Maybe that one on right middle is a scraper

That's was my first thought but it doesn't really have an edge. It's pretty unusual. I don't think it's flint either.

Could possibly be exhausted flake cores but from the pic they don't seem to be true blade cores (e.g. Toyah, Clovis, Meso, etc.)

          My 2 cents...

That black one far middle right looks like a Waco sinker to me..... Better pics would help though

This. Have you found any points in the area these were found?

I have found few broken points but nothing whole yet. In this particular area that I'm in now I've found 2 Mano stones, a crude tip and a base to a Golondrina. Also found 2 actual blade cores

I just haven't seen anything like this yet. I'm not sure what this is made of. Pet wood maybe??

Honestly I feel like I'm probably digging in an ancient landfill.

These are the best items out of this hole so far. Other than flakes and chunks.

The three pics of a rock in your hand is a Hammer stone. It was used to strike the flint rock to remove flakes.

It is made out of Quartzite, which is nothing more than sandstone that has gone through heat and pressure to fuse the sand crystals together.
                        ( a Metamorphic rock)

It is one of the hardest rocks found in Texas and was often times placed on the end of a war blub and used to brain people as the indians rode by, striking them in the head.

The other flint in the fist few pics are nothing but flakes that have been romoved and discarded.

I guess I would have expected a hammer stone to be bigger. I'm still learning.

I have a bunch of hammerstones I picked up in LaSalle County. Some of them are golf-ball sized and you can see all the pecking scars on the ends. I'll try and get some pics up later.

Here's some of my hammerstones (at least that is what I think they are).

Here are some pics of the ends which are really battered compared to the smooth surfaces on the sides:
