    Dropped my safe!

As I am packing up to move, I had the task of loading a gun safe in my trailer. I got 2 other guys to help, but some how we managed to lose control of the dolly and the safe fell back on the dolly handle (crushed the dolly). I had the safe door tied closed and the locking pins taped so they could not slide into the locked position. I haven't gotten to roll it over on the back yet, (gonna get a forklift) to check the locking action out. Do you think the fall with the pins in the open state damaged the operation of the door, to the state where it will not lock or once locked will not unlock?

Surely I am not the only person that has been as bone headed to drop one!

Probably depends on the relocker mechanism

May be OK. Friend of mine dropped a new safe off the trailer in the middle of I 45. Managed to get it back on the trailer and home. Only damage was a little road rash. I suspect your safe is a lot heavier than his if you need a fork lift to upright it. Now that you have it laid over would be safer to trailer laid down and stand up when you get to the destination. I moved my 1800# safe recently. Looked like Spider-Man had struck with all the 2" straps I had on it.

not clear how big your safe actually is, but I would think it can handle a semi padded fall onto the dolly??? If it did not survive I doubt I want it semi protecting my stuff. I would be checking it out lying down while waiting on the forklift.

I will get some pics tonight and will also post an update on the locking and unlocking functions. Safe is a Cannon AE 35. Weight of 700lbs

Did it have the anti theft glass rods in it?
