    HVAC dehumidifier install (Houston)?

Our house in Houston has a 10 year old HVAC unit, and I'm curious if adding a dehumidifier will help keep the home more comfortable this summer.
    Does anyone here install them?
Single story, 2250 sq. ft., 2006 build.

You HVAC unit is your dehumidifier if it is not operating properly it will not dehumidify properly nor pull the temp down to a comfortable level. The "rule of thumb" for AC residential tonnage is 400 sq ft per ton taking glass load and other insulation factors in to consideration. On the other hand if by some chance you unit or units are too large they will satisfy the temperature but will not remove the humidity to where the temp feels comfortable. Maintaining indoor levels between 40% and 60% are most comfortable and also important to good health.
Be sure and check for water leaks or seeps around your foundation that might be adding extra humidity. Hope this helps.

      Yep, that helps.
Sounds like trying to add a dehumidifier may just be a bandaid. Bummer.
