Great to hear the winning ways - Yall are doing awesome.

Us, not so much, lol. Son is developing like a champ, but the overall team isn't coming together.

Having a great time though. Will be heading out to Tyler 11/4 for our first out of town tournament. Looking forward to some fun with the Family.

Good luck to you guys, it's a process, if you trust the coach it will work itself out.

My 10 lost their first game Sunday after 4 errors in the 5th broke a tie into a 10 to 4 loss. Their last touremmentwill be the NIT on 11/4.

My 7 and his team won the Gene Campbell, after a couple of shaky wins Saturday they played well Sunday. Their last tournament will be a one day in McKinney on 10/28.

Your sons development supersedes wins and loses so you guys are doing the right thing. I second the comment about the coach, make sure your goals and his are in line and stay that way. If they don't there are plenty of teams out there.

Keep in mind there is no harm or foul in changing teams. If you don't feel its a good fit, look for a team that is.

We did a little fall ball warm up protecting 8, but playing rec to see how they would do going into coach pitch. Our knuckleheads went 9-1 scoring 122 runs and allowing 36 runs in 10 games. We are moving up as a AA USSSA team in the Spring, but are thinking about playing strictly 7u tournaments next Spring instead of league play and tournaments. Thoughts?

Currently RYA in North Richland Hills, but we're branching out and going USSSA as an age pure 7u team. If we played league plus tournaments, it would likely be at RYA as a premier team.

Still a work in progress and that was with 4 rec kids that had not played much, but they're scrappy!

if your serious about getting better you need to skip rec ball. you cant get better if your not getting pressed and pushed by the teams you play. it was a good step to see where you were, but its not gonna make you guys any better and it embarrassed a lot of rec teams (been there done that).

select leagues are hard to find, but id look for one and play tournaments. Scrimmages are also great ways to stay sharp if you cant find a select league. check out the north texas baseball facebook pages. its not hard to find a scrimmage every week if you wanted to.

Looking through this thread really makes me realize how fast these years fly by. It's cool seeing pics of all the little guys and remembering how much fun those years were. Cherish all these moments guys and realize how blessed you are to have them.

I fly to Jupiter, FL today with my oldest to watch him play in what will be his final tournament. It's a bit sad to say the least...

So I Ordered a 'cheap' HD video camera... for the sole purposes of videoing the boy at his positions and batting (specifically batting)..
His private hitting coach uses one and it has made a night and day difference in helping my son understand the mechanics of his swing and correcting/improving on his swing..

being able to slow/stop a playback of his swings has been immeasurable in helping him, so i thought I'd get one and use it for the rest of his positions too.

anyway.. anyone else use this method for helping their kids?

both of mine have a tendency to not believe me when I tell them they are doing something "wrong" so I have recorded them a few times to show them. being able to watch and learn is a great way other than just giving verbal instruction.

yeh.. I tend to get "I AM" or a blank stare...because I'm Dad.... but he responds to watching himself...and likes to see himself ..so as long as its positive for him.. ill try anything
