I know there's a big difference in the price of each season. Would yall mind sharing what you spend per season?

Patriots was approx $2500 for the Spring - Tribe was $1200, so there has been a big variation.
The cost difference is likely due to an assigned paid coach for the team - that usually isn't a parent.

I would check with the NTX eagles, they are out of allen. their 9u team skipped 8u coach pitch and played 9u kid pitch last year and did really well, even winning a few tourneys I believe. they are currently the best 9u team around dfw.

their 7u team just won the tournament my younger son was in, they beat us 20-1 in the first game on Saturday and didn't lose all weekend.

they are a great organization, but may charge like one as well
True. Great organization that go about it the right way and aren't about win at all cost ways...but rather player development.

My good buddy (and deer hunter) coaches that 9u team. Tanksley. Great people. That little team is stout. They'll be traveling to the USSSA Elite WS in Orlando this summer in hopes of bringing that title back to NTX.

My Son is 9 but will turn 10 in September - Dumb question, but what age group would that be ? Still 9u or 10 ?

they have 2 lefty's that can flat bring it (for a 9yo), the taller one was the hardest thrower we saw last fall, I believe he was one of the coaches sons.

That's how its supposed to work, but say you're pretty talented and have a bad tryout. Get placed on a lower team thinking oh its dbat who cares and its gonna be a long year/summer. In my experience, those lower tier teams in a huge organization were a money grab but to each their own. Maybe not so much at 12u but as you start getting older some of em got pretty rough. Wasn't any fun to play against them, I cant imagine playing for them.

Have an 8 year old that's playing 9U. This is our first year playing tournament ball. I'm curious as to which bat everyone prefers. Or what's your favorite? We're using Louisville Slugger Prime 917. Any opinions on it?

I bought tanner a demartini composite.. takes a little getting used to the thud rather than the ping...but the ball pops off it good.
Lots of kids on team have marucci (sic?) Bats

For a composite the most popular with our boys is the Demirini CFZen or last year's green CF8, if you can find one.

The marucci cat7 is by far the most popular alloy, they all used the cat6 last year.

I respectfully disagree, and I would say there is likely more validity of your statement in the younger ages than the older ones for sure. My son plays for one of the 17u DBAT teams and that organization has been a class act. If you're on any of the DBAT high school rosters, it's because you're a good baseball player - although I'm sure the youth ages can be a numbers game. The high school teams are built on players focused and talented enough to play beyond high school.

If the kid is really talented, and just has a bad tryout, most all real baseball guys can see past the bad tryout, however, most parents just aren't able to accept where little Johnnys skill level is and what team he should really be on.

As for it being a money grab, what company/business isn't? Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad....but all business is a money grab. IHOP grabbed $70 of my money last weekend in Georgetown and it was a terrible meal.
