Random Question of the Day - Frying Chicken on a Coleman Stove

I have been hankering for some homemade fried chicken, but really don't want to have to cook it inside (due to the mess). Has anyone ever used a camp stove to fry chicken outside?

And no, I am not the one cooking it, my husband is (I have no idea how to fry anything).

    Good idea!

I have a nice coleman set up and I might just do this next time I do venison friend steaks!

Mmmm..........love me some venison friend steaks!

In answer to the OP, I never have but don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Avoiding the obvious jokes about the husband cooking because the wife doesn't know how.......

My mother used to fry chicken on the Coleman when we went camping.

Tried it on fish and backstrap. Does not get hot enough. It might until chicken is put in but you'll never keep temp.

Yes I have it works pretty good. I would rather use a propane burner and cast iron pot or deep skillet. just remember to not let the grease scorch because fried chicken grease makes some of the best gravy there is.

the easiest way to fry anything is with a fry daddy.....

take it outside, plug it in and get started.

I don't eat chicken but the wife and kids do. When she fries it, that's exactly the way she does it
Outside, propane burner and my fish frying pot with double baskets

We have a self contained fryer that has an air filter. We can fry anything with virtually zero smell in the house.

We have a fish fryer as well but the regulator is busted, so I was hoping for a plan B.

Heck yeah my husband cooks, one reason why I married him

They make a kitchen accessory (a mesh piece) that will keep the oil from splattering all over your counters.

I don't own the one above--that was just my first Google search hit. Our pans came with one and I use it over the cast iron when frying.
