Digging for Artifacts Garguy Style...Round 2

Most of you followed along when Garguy brought his skid steer and sifter table to my uncles place back in the summer of 2014. Here is a quick look at the early archaic/paleo camp soon after I started digging it in 2013.

Here are the past threads from when me and Garguy hit it with his equipment back during the summer of 2014.

Well here we go again! Garguy has a NEW sifter table that he says is light years ahead of the one we used before (that one was plenty fast). Garguy is coming up tomorrow to set up and might have a little time to do a little sifting after we come up with a game plan. Stay tuned! I firmly believe some interesting stuff is going to show up on the sifter table.

The last time we dug over there was a pretty big fiasco. Funny how I had forgotten all the stuff that went wrong and remember all of it as good times!

Heres the mishaps from last time.

Got all the wheel bearings on the trailer packed and had one replaced. 20 miles in the new one was smoking hot. Drove it to the shop and they fixed it.
Tire went flat on tractor and we spun the rim in the tire.
Got there and set up... Dropped a 1,000lb rock in the new screen and busted a hole in it. We patched it up.
Tire went flat on tractor again and tire broke loose from rim. We finally got it back on an sealed.
Key broke in drive pulley on sifter.
Pin broke in PTO hook up.
Blew a hose on skidsteer. Odd ball fitting and I ended up driving 400 miles to get it fixed.
Ran 30 minutes and blew same hose. took it to town and a super nice guy spliced it in the middle for me.
Put it back on and ended up running it down cross threaded and ruined the threads in the odd ball fitting but discovered the reason for the blowouts.
Got the sharp spot ground off and put new hose on. Threads were ruined on the inside fitting. couldnt get it off.
Messed with it a week and ended up running a new fitting down cross threaded. it barely leaked and is STILL running two years later.
Dug an hour and the track got a little loose. new tracks so i thought they had stretched and we got it tightened up.
30 minutes later it was loose again and we tightened it some more.
Ran an hour and I saw something that looked like bearing material in the sand. YEP! Ruined front axle. Bearing internal had gone out and thats where the slack was coming from. Loaded it up and headed to the shop for a 4,400 dollar fix.
On way to shop, 106 degrees. Blew a tire and it came apart enough to blow the one in front of it and trash the trailer fender as well as busting the brake drum.
Only had one spare. it was flat. Got dad to bring a tank of air. (two hours)
Chained the front axle up and crawled it to the shop on one tire. remember its 106 degrees and a skidsteer on the trailer.

We got the skidsteer fixed, got the trailer fixed, got the tires fixed, and went back to Johnnys for a couple more days of fun. All went well and we found a bunch of goodies.

Cant wait to do it again!

Sounds like my luck. If I didn't have crappy luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!!!
