east texas rut is defintely a go!

ok so yester day evening around 3, I was headed to check my 3 cameras on 1000 ac in walker county. I wasn't planning on hunting until I was leaving and a big buck chased a doe right across the road in front of me... he never turned to look at me. at all even though he was just about 70 yards in front of my truck and he never slowed down I couldn't tell what he was but he was definetly a shooter.. so this evening after I get out of class I'm headed that way..... he was just as big or bigger than my avatar pic I couldn't grab my binoculars in time but from 400 yards away I could see his orange horns running into the woods

This cold front has helped get things moving. I drove 30 miles east -home from work yesterday and it was 23degrees warmer at home. The front hit about an hour later at the house.

        Dalton,

Do you hunt that big MLD lease over in Walker county? I have heard that they have some good deer on that place. Seen a young buck in my yard the other afternoon chasing.

MVerzinski, There is game management lease that I have seen advertised numberous time in Walker county, On one adertisement is says 4000 acres and one protein feeder required and has a picture of a really good 8 point buck, and the other advertisement has 3200 acres and has the same pic with the same write up. It just looks like a pretty nice place and it was close to home so I was just wondering. They seem to have a few openings this year.

Didn't mean to highjack the thread thou.

Yep, the deers are out. Went to corn the shootin lanes during lunch and saw five. Just got back from a meeting in Nac at 3:30 and had a suicide doe try to cross the driving lanes of HWY 59.

lots of chasing activity at our place between Windthorst and Archer City yesterday. that's very far north from east Texas and the does weren't having any of it but the chase was on.

Had a wide but young 8 point freshen a scrape about 10 yards from my stand yesterday at 6 pm. They are rutty. (Harrison County)

Also had a spike run a doe off a feeder Tuesday morning in Marion County.

                            It's here fellers.
