Looking for a lab

I was leaving the ball fields tonight and my wife pointed out a black lab pup another guy had... Knowing I wanted one eventually.

Went over and talked with him and although he paid the guy a chunk of change for the dog couldn't remember the name of the breeder. He thought it was Kent Turner south of Hempstead, TX, but wasn't sure.

Can anyone around that area help me out?! Thanks!

That name doesn't ring any bells for me. I see you are in my neck of the woods. The BCS Retriever Club is hosting an AKC hunt test this weekend. Will be lots of great dogs to watch work, a dozen or so pro trainers, and some breeders. Would be a great place to network if you want a pup from working lines.

Yes, everyone is welcome. I doubt anyone will have puppies there to look at but there will be plenty of folks there to network with to find out about upcoming litters, trainers, etc

I cannot recommend anyone more highly than Wade at Texas Duck Dogs. He is a great guy, outstanding trainer and has some awesome dogs. I bought my dog from him last year and couldn't be happier. He has some AWESOME puppies available right now! However, they are a top of line breeding so they are fairly pricey. I wish my son could've afforded one of his pups.
