Have 3 hives that we reQueened with Italians that have worked out great.
That makes 3 with double stacked brood and a super on top and 4 broods with supers on top.
And just found a 125 acre sunflower patch next to 150 acres of milo that I can put hives on.
I am going to Requeen 3 wild hives and move them out there this month, looks like it is going to be a great spring.

I wish I was still into bee keeping. It's a very interesting hobby.

We have a pretty good hide at the deer lease in Robert Lee if anyone wants to come get them. They are in a corner of the the outside wall.

As far as money goes it depends. If we lease hives for pollenation it is $75 a cycle per hive.
Honey goes for $12 a pint or $20 Qt.
We averaged around 10 to 12 gallons every pull and we pulled 3 times plus had a lot of veggies we roadside sold from the garden here at the house we raised for our house bees. So it is okay for a hobby.

What about hogs messing with the hives to get honey?

I had the same concern when I got into beekeeping. Short answer, hogs tend to stay far away...they don't mess with the hives.

                    Bees in Portland Texas

I have found a hive in a lot that I need to mow for a owner. ANy chance you might want some bees. I don't know anything about bees except that they can kill me when I run mowing gear around them.

I dont want them killed, but then again I dont want them there, as I need to mow the lot.

Let me know if you want them, or anyone in the corpus area.

I know where two wild hives are right now. Both are easy to get to!
