anyone ever use a magellin 330 gps? reason being is a buddy has one for sale...he told me hed let me have it for 50 bucks. ill drop by to look at it tomrrow. Any input for the savvy guys...is it a good unit? I plan to use it fishing and hunting.

I started with a Magellan (in the 1990s) and I have had Magellans since the Pioneer (old two channel), then I got a 315. I just was used to the menus, etc. of the Magellan (vs. Garmin)when I upgraded to the 315.
I use it for brushpile fishing, and Elk Hunting Colorado. I'm not one to upgrade to the latest tecnology just to keep up with the Jones. The 315, map, and compass are Perfect for me to get "there and back".
My cousin uses a 330. It has topo/mapping capabilities. But He still uses a regular map since the screen is so small. The scrren map is good for quick location checks, etc. But you have to pan a lot it you have very far to travel.
They are pretty nice. They have more characters for waypoint names, probably more memory, and a few other things.
Go for it.
