I live east of the metromess and like a lot of others hunt the hill country for a number of reasons. After reading some of the thread about Grayson County I seem to remember seeing some really huge bucks being taken in Kaufman and Hunt Counties in the past. From time to time I like to drive through the Kaufman area and have entertained buying property there for hunting/recreational purposes. What's up with the deer population there these days? Any big bucks being taken? What about hogs? Is it pretty much like east Texas in general?
Anybody have any luck there these days? Sure would be convenient for me to hunt there as opposed to the longer drive to the hill country.
I have a hunch that it's pretty sparse but occasionally a big buck gets to ride in the back of someone's truck.
