    Kaufman County???

I live east of the metromess and like a lot of others hunt the hill country for a number of reasons. After reading some of the thread about Grayson County I seem to remember seeing some really huge bucks being taken in Kaufman and Hunt Counties in the past. From time to time I like to drive through the Kaufman area and have entertained buying property there for hunting/recreational purposes. What's up with the deer population there these days? Any big bucks being taken? What about hogs? Is it pretty much like east Texas in general?

Anybody have any luck there these days? Sure would be convenient for me to hunt there as opposed to the longer drive to the hill country.

I have a hunch that it's pretty sparse but occasionally a big buck gets to ride in the back of someone's truck.

I do some hog eradication in kaufman and usually see a few deeer when i go... But i know that land around there is perty pricey.

I made the switch last year from hunting 2.5 hrs west to 1.5 east of Seagoville.

I am hunting in Henderson County near Malakoff. I love being able to climb the trees

My uncle use to have a place in Ola,TX but the deer population was not large. ( Kaufman County )

My place in Henderson County is only like 400 acres but I have seen more decent bucks there than out west. But its still no guarantee that I will see a deer on stand every time but its closer and cheaper

I have watched deer in Forney right off 80, near the gas plant.

We also have deer on one of our duck holes that sits right on the Kaufman and Dallas county line. It butts up to the Trinity also.

I think if you are anywhere near the Trinity bottoms you will have deer and hogs at some point in time. and a few ducks too
