THIS MAKES ME LAUGH EVERY TIME...

Ok, to start with... Lets put NBA against anybody in the world... Will their defense be constantly better than everyone...
Yes it will... So by definition, the NBA has the best defense in the world. That said, a great quote about Basket ball.

"This game is about BUCKETS" Stops are important, but Basketball is an offensive game

the second part of this that is laughable... Put bird in the game now and he would be a good shooter, but a piece player that doesn't get many minutes because he cant do enough other things to make him more valuable.

Jordan would have played almost the EXACT same way curry does if he played now.

Players are Faster, stronger, and most players do more things well than ever before.

The only thing the 80's "golden years" teams do better than MOST NBA teams is play team ball... And the Spurs or Golden state would beat any of those teams because they play team ball. Ps look up Golden states defensive efficiency ratings...

Everybody idolizes the 80's... But you have forgotten all the teams of that era other than the Lakers and Bulls.... how about all those other teams... how were they lol

To go along with this. I'm not sure what getting punished in the lane has to do with Curry pulling up AND MAKING 30 ft shots with regularity.

That's all this guy does is shoot 3s all day long
          THOUSANDS of them
If he can make 66 out of 100 shots in a game, tired, running around, with guys throwing hands in his face and trying to block his shot, imagine what he can do in a calm setting where he can take his time and be more relaxed.

Not sure if any of you ever saw a NBA player play a pickup game or "H-O-R-S-E" but those guys NEVER MISS
Just standing around shooting in jeans/tshirts you will hear nothing but net all day long.

Even the bottom of the barrell never heard of benchwarmers are marksmen.

            So me a favor.

Raise .66 to the 77th power and tell me what the odds of that happening are.

I went to a Mavs vs. Jazz game in the mid 90s, we got there early and watched the Jazz pre-game shoot around, Jeff Hornacek shot around for about 5 mins from about 15ft to 23ft and did not miss one shot. If I had to guess he probably made 40-50 in a row.

              Just sayin..

I gotcha. It's possible, just highly improbable.

The record for consecutive free throws is like 5200 heh...

The record for consecutive in NBA is 97.

Curry has an unusual feel for the game....not only can he shoot from deep but his ability to drive to the rack and dish or finish is remarkable.....If you watch basketball at all levels, everyone can handle the ball and playing in the low post is a lost art.....Lol

So Wonder how the tall white guy that plays in Dallas gets minutes and is about to have 30,000 points in the NBA. He's pretty much done it with a crazy 1 legged fade away jumper. Never been real athletic. I think Larry Bird along with many other players from the 8O's would do well in today's NBA.

It's not lost, its just that with the effectiveness of the 3, working inside out in today's game is less popular than movement out.

The Spurs are one of the few teams that still works inside/movement out vs just movement/penetration out.

It's OK if you don't REALLY know how talented these sports guys are...

In 1990, Larry Bird made 71 GAME TIME free throws in a row

"Larry Bird's flirtation with at least one bit of history came to an end Tuesday night.

Bird's consecutive free throw string ended at 71, but the veteran forward still scored 38 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Boston Celtics to a 107-94 victory over the Houston Rockets at Houston."

NBA Finals in 1985 and 1995 all 9 games (5 in 85 and 4 in 95) both teams scored over 100 pts every single game. Hakeem The Dream played in 4 of those games.
