Ganular Mineral feed trough- No hogs wanted

I want to put a granular mineral supplement this spring for the deer. I cannot put it on the ground or the hogs go wild over it.

Has anyone made a mineral feeding trough that the hogs cannot get at with out putting behind a hog proof fence? I was thinking something that could hang from a tree or that a hog could not get at

Yep, that is what I understand too. I guess I just will have to design something and weld it up. I will let you know.

New item out that might help you a bit. Check out the web site www.iscrewfusion.com. I believe the product can be found currently at Gander Mountain. It is a neat product that is an attractant/mineral block that you can mount off the ground on a tree or fence post so hogs can't get to it! It lasts for 60 to 90 days in the field and contains basic minerals you might be looking for. I tried it for grins this season and deer were all over it in one day.....
