300lb pigs exist. Few and far between. I 100% agree that people routinely over estimate their weights. I don't personally know anyone besides myself that has shot a 300# hog. I've been fortunate to shoot two. Both on small low-fence properties that have never been fed protein etc. and these aren't cut boars either.

      307#

(My butt is on the middle of his back, not his rear-end)

331# - my knees are touching him on his back side. So my face is maybe 3ft behind him at most? Hand is also touching him. I was as close to him as I could get, sitting Indian style.

For reference I'm 6'5" / 230lb and along with my other buddy 6'3" / 230lb - we barely drug him 30yds before giving up. I mean the sucker barely moved. Drug him 6" at a time it seemed. And we wre both in excellent shape. Both pro ball players.

They're rare, but they're out there.

OP's will go 214lb ?? Waiting on an answer!!

I can't believe how wide spanned the guesses were. By my unscientific Uncalibrated game scale he weighed 262. It's hard to tell how big he really is from a pic.

Wow. Big pig. I didn't think he was that big.
            Congrats.

I'm a pretty big boy. My guess is that people aren't good at judging the size of people either. Another thing is you couldn't see how wide he was. I took his head to the taxidermist and he was pretty impressed at the size.

I think it's impossible to guess a pigs weight. I weighed a couple pigs before where one was visually bigger than the other but the smaller one was heavier. You just never know until you put them on the scale.

                  Looks like 260-265 lbs.

I've only seen one near or slightly over 300#. It was FAT and round. I shot a sow that I couldn't drag out from under the feeder. Guessed she was at least 180-200. Then my buddy shot one that we both couldn't drag anywhere. I did shoot one that weighted 235 #'s actually weighted it. The near 300# one was really a lot bigger.

But agree that most exaggerate......a lot!

Here is a 310# weighed and is actually hanging from the scale. The next one was only 239# and I thought for sure he was over 260#. I've killed many over 220# but only two over 300#. I've seen many on game camera over 300#s but killing them with a bow is very difficult. I run 17 feeders that throw at night with game camera's so I get to look at a lot of pigs.

Bottomed out my 250# scale with head and front shoulders still in bed of utv. I guestimated him to be in the 350ish range though.
