    Gravitational waves explained

The first measured/detected gravitational waves two weeks ago was an exciting development in astronomy, but other than recognizing it was important I couldn't really grasp what exactly it meant or how try were detected.

Saw this on Flipboard this morning, and it is a good easy to understand explanation. Was on the Colbert Show. I missed it because I'm more of a Jimmy Fallon guy [emoji6]

              ... interesting....

so now... we just need to find a way go recreate those waves. Invert them... and we could create weightlessness.

now... how to create something that is the size of a skateboard that can create and equivalent gravitational wave as a planet... HOVERBOARD HERE WE COME!

You can have the overboard, I'll settle for weightless Kate.

Pretty freakin cool.. Google image LIGO and you can see pictures of the structures and tubes it takes to pick up that tiny little movement.
