Where to stay near Gruene

I am wanting to take my wife to Gruene next weekend, but the only places that I know of to stay are the bed and breakfasts. They are overly expensive (~$300/night) in my opinion so those are out. What is the next closest option/s?

I appreciate your help guys. We really need some alone time as we've been having a very difficult last 5 months (not our relationship, just many bad things have happened).

We have stay at this place. It is very nice and food was excellent.

Don't stay at the Antioinette's in Gruene............the lady that runs it is weird.

I'd go about 8 miles away on Canyon Lake. Check in with the Holiday Lodge on Canyon Lake and see if they have any openings. Very affordable in off season.

Check out Texas RV Park 281 on 281 at 46. They have a guest house that is pretty reasonable. Not sure if they rent it out to the public or not or to just family who visit in the RV Park but it will be worth it to check it out. Last I remember it was around $75.00 a night and it is real nice.
