    Canoe, kayak river adventures

It's about that time of year and I'm starting to get the itch to go do some river canoeing, kayaking and fishing. It would be awesome if everyone could post up their favorite place(s) to go. Doesn't have to be just Texas either.

As I get older (and softer) my trips are geared more and more toward going somewhere where we can set up our campers and just do day trips on the rivers and/or lakes. There's nothing quite like floating a nice clear stream or river and catching bass on the fly rod. I cannot wait to hit the water this year.

So what trips/adventures can you recommend? Where have you gone that made you want to go back again and again? Feel free to post up pictures of your river excursions as well. I can see a possible TBH float trip in the future.

I've been to crooked creek in Arkansas. It was good fishing when we went a few years ago.
Also been to Kings river last year but water was WAY too high and we floated a 4 day trip in 1.5 days. Hardly ever even casted, was too busy trying not to flip the yaks.

Also forgot to mention we mainly fish for smallies so that's why we chose those two

We also went to the Brazos for a day trip and it wasn't bad but it was a "guided" trip so we only worked a small area of the river

Me too! I'm hoping for a late June trip this year.

Caught this nice fat bass out of my new kayak last Saturday. It was the perfect day for bass fishing. Warm, humid and overcast. I had a epic day catching bass on the fly rod. Sorry about the sideways pics.
