So I'm selling a S&W Governor and have it posted on a couple of different forums. I had a guy on 2coolfishing pm wanting to trade me for a rifle/scope combo and decided that we would meet today for the trade. We brokered the deal 5 days ago, btw. He texted me this morning saying that he sold his setup locally and that we would t be trading. Ok....no big deal, I then asked him what time he wanted to meet to buy mine. He then informed me that he wasn't buying mine either. I then proceeded to thank him for screwing me over and that verbal contracts and a mans word obviously mean nothing to him. As you would expect, no response........ Very frustrating!

Sorry to hear about that. It happened to me once where I was buying something from a seller on TGT and set up time and place. Day of meet I texted to confirm and said he sold it the evening before.Comment

Yes it is. I had a good deal worked out a several years ago on a Ruger Blackhawk .357 and the day I was supposed to get it the guy sold it out from under me. A deal is a deal no matter which end of the purchase or trade you're on. That's one thing I'm proud to say about myself. If I promise someone something or make a deal with someone I always follow through.Comment

Kind of sucks, but at least he informed you before you headed out to meet him. I hate it when people break their word as well, however, the worst is agreeing on a meeting and the guy is a no show. No call, text, nothing.Comment

Honestly I have become immune to this with as much trading as I do. I only put people on blast for standing me up nowadays. When we set a time and place and I start that way it really upsets me to have a no show. I deal with your type of trade hassle weekly.Comment
